An Introduction to Rick Retro's Realm

Yeah, this is the very first post by Rick Retro. His ascendancy to lead his Realm is really nothing special, nor is this post. But in a way, we suppose it is historic, presuming, he gets better.

Hi everyone, and welcome to the (very) beginning of my couch-potato career as a noteworthy reviewer.

I’m going to call my domain Rick Retro’s Realm, because there are hundreds of critics focusing on reviewing current entertainment content, but I want to help you remember old favorites and discover gems you may have missed.

Along the way, I hope you will find my reflections interesting and thoughtful, occasionally humorous, always entertaining and not offensive too often.

For almost 25 years, I’ve been grading movies, TV series and their episodes, books and their chapters and even comic strips, and whatnot, for my own personal pleasure. I’ve used a simple A+ to F grading system, but I’m planning to expand on that, starting now with short reviews and working towards a system useful for anyone to find stuff they would like, whether their entertainment tastes match mine or not.

I’ll be looking for the right way to platform this, maybe website, Substack, podcast. We’ll start small and see what happens. Questions and suggestions are welcome.

Time to dive in!

From this first post until now I’ve given my readers 43 reviews so far, and they’ve reported watching (and avoiding!) movies based on my recommendations. Now I’m moving those archives to Substack and I’m looking forward to serving you too!)
