I'm originally from Seattle, but moved with my family to the Los Angeles area in third grade (1970), where I have lived ever since, except for a few months living in the Czech Republic in 1990.
Greetings to all of Rick's RETRO Retro-ites! Thank you for the dubious introduction, and I can confirm Rick did find me over the top obnoxious! Somehow, that memory has dimmed, but then came Movies, Books and Angels baseball!
Yes, we had some excellent adventures - getting to know his family, his amazing parents, and Rick's love of all three! I was introduced to the joy of Science Fiction books and hundreds of collections in his library. I tell my students about this transformation from non-regular-reader to devouring books today!
I am so pleased to be part of this adventure! Oh Rick, remember The Timberline Sluggers? That is a story for another day...
Hey, Scott! Rick’s little sister Wendy here. Good to hear from you again, and where are you teaching?
I just watched Little Shop of Horrors, since I missed it when it came out, on Rick’s recommendation. Loved it, although it made me pass up re-homing a friend’s bromeliads! (Her neighbors wanted them out after one had provided refuge for a coquí frog and eggs, a.k.a. a mean green alien from Puerto Rico…)

How about you?

The Timberline Sluggers! That name hasn't crossed my mind in decades! Thanks for the memory!
