What Will Project #3 Be?
Rick Retro’s Realm, Behind the Scenes #10: Valentine's Day? All-Time Greats? Dark Whimsy Favorites? TV Series? You choose!

This is where I would typically announce my next project. But instead I’m going to pause and catch my breath, after a very productive first month of reviews.
I hope you’ve all found my writing and my reviews entertaining and useful. I’ve worked extra in order to be even more fun and even more helpful. In between watching the movies and writing the reviews, I’ve been developing the systems and ratings to give the most possible info to you about a film in the least space possible.
I can’t begin to tell you how much fun I’m having sharing my insights with you and I’m humbled and blessed by the positive feedback. It’s especially cool to hear that some of you have already followed my recommendations and watched stuff you’d have otherwise not. And even skipped things I’ve warned you against!
Anyhow, the systems development is pretty much done now... I’m mostly working now on how to present and explain it. The next big foundational non-reviewing project will be trying to figure out how to put Rick Retro’s Realm on Substack or elsewhere if Substack doesn’t work out.
So the full format reviews will roll out soon. I will revisit already reviewed items to be sure they are correctly rated with the new systems, but also mix in new reviews.
Meanwhile, expect a few Reference Roundups in the coming week so you will know what everything means.
Any preference as to the nature of the next project?
Valentine’s Day isn’t far off. I could review consensus best romcoms.
To be really ambitious, I could go after some of the great films of all time. Have to get to them eventually. I’m open to reviewing some of the worst ever too. That could be amusing and fun to write about!
Or maybe you’d like me to share some of my Dark Whimsy favorites? Or favorites in general?
I could also share my grade averages for TV series I’ve watched over the last 25 years or so. That info is all in my databases and isn’t hard to write up for sharing.
As for TV reviews, it takes much longer to review a season of a series than a film, since you’re usually looking at a minimum of ten hours of viewing compared to at most two to three hours, but those reviews will come eventually. Sooner if that's a top request.
I’m doing this for you, so what would you like?
Thanks for your support.
